Wearing the Star – It’s Not Just a Symbol

“OG Stories – A Soldier’s Journey in Olive Green

There are many uniforms in this world... but Olive Green is not just cloth—it is a commitment.

My name is Gopinatha Rao. I wore Olive Green not as a fashion—but as faith.

My first duty was in the majestic but unpredictable terrain of Jammu and Kashmir.
I rode the green Bullet, boots firm, rifle ready, but heart full of purpose.

I still remember the first time I felt the weight of the star on my shoulder flap.
It wasn’t decoration. It was dedication.

That star carries sleepless nights, brotherhood in blood, prayers from distant mothers, and promises made to the flag.

This blog is my OG Diary.
Through stories, reflections, and photos, I will take you through:

  • Lessons from Army life
  • Life behind the badge
  • Unsung memories of patrols, friendships, sacrifices
  • And yes, even moments with my loyal friend – the Bullet motorcycle

If you’ve ever felt pride, discipline, duty, or deep emotion at the sight of the Tricolour fluttering in the wind…
This blog is for you.

Stay tuned. Jai Hind. 🇮🇳
